<p>Shriners Farmers Market open sundays 9:00am to 2:00pm from May 24 to end of October, 2009.&nbsp; Shriners Farmers Market is located at the Kingston Shriners club at the corner of Hwy 2 and Collins Bay Rd. </p><p>Products available during the market season: local pork, beef and bison producers.&nbsp; Growers with fresh in season fruits and vegetables.&nbsp; Honey, baked goods, fresh eggs and cheese.&nbsp; Bedding plants and fresh cut flowers and local crafts. </p><p><u>&nbsp;BACKGROUND WEST END FARMERS MARKET </u><br /><br />The residents of the West end of Kingston have approached their councilors and have demonstrated a real interest in a west end Farmers Market.&nbsp;As a result I was approached by Councilors Lisa Osanic, Rob Matheson&nbsp;and&nbsp;Terry Shea&nbsp;to take on this task as there is a real need for a Farmers Market in the west end of Kingston. <br /><br />As a result of my search for a location I approached the Kingston Shriners and they fully support a Farmers market on their property. <br /><br />The west end is a very high density population area and a Market should do exceptionally well here, and could very well expand in the future to several days a week if supported and we can encourage enough Farmers and Producers to come, they could do very well indeed.<br /><br />Vendors are needed&nbsp;starting on 24 May 2009.&nbsp;The following&nbsp;are the pertinent details: <br /><br />WHERE -- corner of Princess St&nbsp;(Hwy 2)&nbsp;and Collins Bay road; <br /><br />DATES --&nbsp;24 May - 25 October 2009 inclusive;&nbsp;(approximate dates every year) <br /><br />TIMINGS -- 8 AM to 2 PM on Sundays; (set up would take place between 8 and 9 with the Market officially starting at 9) <br /><br />RATES -- $25.00 for a single 10 X 24 stall and $40.00 for a double.&nbsp;There will be a special rate until the end of June which is, $15.00 and $30.00 respectively.&nbsp;Once established there will be seasonal rates offered at a more attractive price&nbsp;and Vendors can select their location on a first come first served basis and will be assured of the same location each week. These fees&nbsp;will be collected by the Shriners; <br /><br />WHO CAN APPLY --&nbsp;only Farmers, Growers and Producers who grow/produce 80% of what they sell. <br /><br />Washrooms are available on site for vendors.&nbsp;There is considerable free parking for customers also.&nbsp;We will have the use of the Shriners&nbsp;sign on the road to advertise and advertising will also be done in the local papers and the media. <br /><br />Farmers, Growers and Producers who wish to be part of this Market are requested to contact Jack O'Brien at the above email or Phone 613 549 7120 for more information. <br /><br />&nbsp;</p>
